Libbi had accrued 14 years of ballet, tap, and jazz as well as 2 ½ years of hip hop by the time she left for college.  At Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, she studied both regular and technique versions of ballet, jazz, and modern dance for her minor degree in Dance.  Libbi also studied Dance History, Improvisation/choreography, Dance Performance, and Rhythmic Analysis.  She majored in Deaf Education.

While in graduate school in 2005, at an American Sign Language variety show, Libbi discovered clogging.  She immediately signed up for the Rhythm Rocker cloggers and started performing with them.  They proved pivotal in her later quest for certification in clogging.  The Cherokee Cloggers in Rusk were also supportive by having her teach there for several months prior to her move to the Dallas area.

By day, Libbi is an itinerant deaf education teacher in Dallas.  By night, she takes classes at Bruce Lea Dance Factory in Fort Worth under the tutelage of renowned instructor Elaine Bender.  Previously she was a member of Shufflin’ Shoes in Richardson under the direction of Dee Dick, but moved on to teach her own group one night a week in Garland.

As an educator, Libbi is certified to teach Dance in public school, but hasn’t found her “nitch” yet.  She will be teaching workshops this school year at Studio B in the Lakewood area of Dallas.  Libbi has music licenses in BMI, ASCAP, and SESAC.

Libbi has also attended the National Clogging Conventions in Phoenix (2006), Nashville (2007), San Diego (2008) and New Orleans (2009).  She taught in the open hall in Nashville, San Diego and New Orleans and received her Certified Clogging Instructor (CCI) in Nashville.  She has taught at the Texas Clogging Rally, Double Toe Jam, the NORTEX Round-up, Luckenbach on Taps, and also in Alberta, Canada with best friend Kerri Orthner in the Summer of 2008.   Libbi has been invited to teach at the Double Toe Jam this summer.  She also co-hosted a workshop with Elaine Bender in Fort Worth which featured Simone Pace from South Carolina this past August.  Since the Summer Clogging Fun Workshop last August was such a success, we will have it again this year on July 31st at Bruce Lea Dance Factory in Fort Worth, TX!!  Check out the flyer on the front page.

Me dancing with Elaine Bender's Clogging Team at the Double Toe Jam in Waco July 2008.  It was to the song "Can't Hurry Love".  What a cool dance to learn and perform for my first stab at advanced clogging.   I love Elaine-- she is sweet and understanding.

Can you tell that I "LOVE" to Clog!!!!
